LEACH’S STORM PETREL

English: Leach’s Storm Petrel.
German: Wellenläufer.
French: Océanite cul-blanc.
Order: Procellariiformes.
Family: Hydrobatidae.
19-22 cm.
The plumage of the Leach´s Storm Petrel is dark gray, almost black, with brown shades, paler than the European Storm Petrel or Wilson’s Storm Petrel. The light band on the wing coverts is more visible and extensive compared to other storm petrels. The rump and uppertail coverts are white, with a reduced extension on the sides and under the tail.
Primaries: 10 per ala.
Secundaries: 13-15 per ala.
Rectrices: 12.
